There are two major barriers to completing a college degree and they are time and money, according to Paul Percy, provost and executive vice president at Carson-Newman University.
“The longer people stay in school, the longer they have to keep finding ways to come up with money, to pay for school and for money to live on,” Percy said. “The students of today are not like the students of 20 or 30 years ago. They’re working more. They need to work more. They have other life circumstances.”
