Deputies Protect Teacher After Anti-Military Rant

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies are monitoring for threats against a Pico Rivera teacher who made disparaging remarks against the military and the student who secretly recorded him — both online and in their neighborhoods.

“There has been a firestorm described as mean comments. No threats of bodily injury at this point,” Capt. Patrick Valdez of the Sheriff’s Pico Rivera station said. El Rancho High School teacher Gregory Salcido hasn’t reported any death threats made against him to the department, Valdez added.
