The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and the Cohen Veterans Network (CVN), a national not-for-profit philanthropic organization dedicated to improving the mental health care of veterans, have jointly published the Specialized Practice Curricular Guide for Military Social Work for social work programs and educators. This comprehensive curricular guide will help educators prepare social workers to address the specific needs of military service members and their families.
The new guide updates CSWE’s 2010 Advanced Military Social Work Practice Guidelines, led by CVN President and CEO Anthony Hassan, EdD, LCSW, and supports teaching of skills related to the nine competencies in the 2015 Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards.
