JOHNSON CITY, TN – Students who are veterans or the family of veterans have a new place to go on the ETSU campus.
The Office of Veterans Affairs at East Tennessee State University dedicated their new Military-Affiliated Student Recourse Center (MARC) this morning. Formerly known as the Veterans Lounge since its opening in 2013, the MARC is newly renovated and has relocated to the ground floor of Yoakley Hall on South Dossett Drive.
“Today is a phenomenal day, it’s an investment that ETSU has made in its student-veteran population. The space that we’ve moved to was renovated at a cost of at least $50,000. Brand new furniture is all in the facility,”, ETSU Director of Veterans Affairs Antonio Banchs said, “They’ve modified the structure to have a private computer room, a private tutoring room, and it is just a sign of our continuing growth and recognition of the growth of the student population.”
