NewDay USA to announce new Georgia Military College Preparatory School scholarship

MILLEDGEVILLE — NewDay USA is expected to announce next week that scholarships will be made available to children of deployed Georgia National Guard soldiers to attend Georgia Military College Preparatory School.

On Monday, NewDay USA, accompanied by Brig. Gen. Randall Simmons, commanding general of the Georgia Army National Guard, will make an announcement for the new scholarship opportunity as well as present another scholarship to a student of GMC Prep. Rob Posner, CEO and president of NewDay USA, NewDay USA Executive Chair retired Rear Adm. Thomas Lynch and GMC leadership will also be present to make the announcement — which will take place in the legislative chambers at the institution’s main campus in Milledgeville.

GMC has several campuses throughout the state, including one across the street from Albany Technical College. The Georgia National Guard’s 48th Infantry Brigade is sending off roughly 2,100 soldiers to Afghanistan by early next year for a period of nine months.
