VCCS Named as a Partner for U.S. Naval Community College Program

annandale_imageVirginia’s Community Colleges (VCCS) was named as one of five partner institutions for the newly-established U.S. Naval Community College program, according to Yahoo!Finance.

The other chosen institutions include The State University of New York system, Alexandria Technical and Community College, the University of Arizona and the University of Maryland Global Campus.

In January 2021, up to 600 students will participate in the pilot program while 100 are set to take classes at Northern Virginia Community College in the Cybersecurity AAS program. As the partnership continues, more VCCS institutions plan to become involved, Yahoo!Finance reported.

“We are very excited to make this announcement,” said Dr. Randi Cosentino, president of the USNCC. “Working with top colleges and universities to bring to the members of our maritime service community programs that are going to be of high value to them and help them achieve their educational goals.”
