Professor Unearths, Publishes Poetry of WWII Soldiers

Robert A. Shearer, retired criminal justice professor of Sam Houston State University, is a literary archaeologist.
 
He uncovers the past, something forgotten after 70 years. 

In a Texas A&M Library in College Station, he uncovered hundreds of poems written by U.S. Army military personnel during World War II, while looking for information for a book he was writing about his father, “Attack on the Sportplatz.”
