The United States Naval Community College named Alexandria Technical and Community College (ATCC) as one of five institutions to implement a pilot program on campus to serve military members, EchoPress reported.
Beginning in January, around 600 servicemembers plan to participate in the program. At ATCC, 90 of them will complete online classes in areas such as calculus and statistics. These courses are part of ATCC’s new nuclear engineering technology degree program, according to EchoPress.
The other institutions chosen include the University of Arizona, the Virginia Community College System, the University of Maryland Global Campus and The State University of New York.
“We are very honored to have been selected to be a partner with the USNCC in this pilot,” said Michael Seymour, president of ATCC, in a statement. “We are proud of our outstanding record of student success and our nationwide reputation for delivering quality education. Our caring staff and faculty stand ready to ensure military members have a great experience at ATCC.”
