Washington Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal is one of 143 members of Congress urging President Donald Trump to drop his recently signed ban on allowing transgender people to serve in the military.
In a letter today, the Congress members write that the ban is unconstitutional and “detrimental to our national security, ill-advised, and contrary to the values upon which our nation was built.” Jayapal’s signature led the letter along with Virginia’s A. Donald McEachin and Massachusetts’ Joe Kennedy III.
