Today is Veterans Day, a day of celebrating people who have devoted years of their lives to serving our country. Yet the hard reality for many veterans is that while others their age are using their formative adult years to establish careers in business and pursue educational degrees, these individuals are building military skills that don’t always translate easily into jobs outside the service.
That is why Don Dwyer, Sr., the founder of Neighborly, established the VetFran program in 1991. VetFran encourages business ownership by offering financial incentives to veterans. Since its founding, more than 6,300 veterans have acquired a franchise business through the program.
